Day 25 – The never ending Atlantic

We crossed Prime Meridian early this morning. It wasn't nearly as big of a deal as crossing the equator, but it's still cool. We are now in South Eastern Hemisphere. Before the trip is over we will have been in all four parts of the hemisphere.

We also lose another hour tonight. Ouch. Just realized that we're going to be losing hours the entire trip. We'll gain an entire day on April 15th, so we'll actually have two April 15th's but losing sleep is rough! We'll use yet another hour tomorrow night (yes, two days in a row). This will be the last time change before we reach Cape Town though.

I don't remember explaining this earlier so I'll try to now. Different groups of rooms belong to different seas. So like 4th deck port side forward is the Bearing Sea, which is what I'm in. Everyone belongs to some sea. During our voyage we have this thing called the Sea Olympics with a ton of different games that the seas challenge each other at. Whatever sea gets the most points during the Sea Olympics, or wins the most challenges will get off in Miami first. There's a ton of different games that are played. I can't think of them all right now but some include: 3v3 basketball and soccer, pie eating, flippie cup, photo contest, something with changing clothes and picking up pennies in the pool with them on, tug-o-war, extreme musical chairs, poker, uno, and a bunch of other things. We were originally suppose to have the Olympics the day after Cape Town but they are instead rescheduling it to sometime during March because we're expecting some rough seas as we leave Cape Town and round South Africa. Tonight we had the 'Sea Captains Challenge' which consisted of each sea getting chants together and a performance of some sort (such as putting an SaS rhyme together with the Fresh Prince theme). Some of them ended up being pretty hilarious.

After that there was this thing called the Coffee House where people with talents could go up and perform for anyone who wanted to watch, which ended up filling almost the entire Union. The most common things were singing/guitar and poems, but there was also a juggling comedian who was pretty hilarious. Hopefully they have another one though because it ended up being really enjoyable.
